Collection: ALENTEJO

In this cycle of work, I’m telling authentic stories about the women of 20th-century Alentejo through the lens of the monte where my family lived for generations. Drawing from rich source material—including photographs, oral testimonies, objects, recipes, and my own lived experience—I explore these histories through abstract, expressive paintings.

By giving form to these particular stories in my, I hope to shed light on little known personal stories that made up the fabric of women’s lives, connecting the essence of the Alentejo with a wider audience.
